you're not the only one... i tried several tutorials on the internet getting this vagrant and homestead to run on my windows machine and i do end up with the same problem... to be honest i gave it up... everyhting seemed to work until i try to "up" the machine, it tries to boot up and then crashed with the same error message

I would imagine this is a Virtualbox issue in getting the VM started.

If you are on windows with an intel machine have you enabled Intel Virtualisation in the bios?

What happens if you boot up the VM from the virtualbox client - there may be a better error available rather than the generic Vagrant one you are receiving above.

Just in case anybody else came into this problem, in my case it was related to VT-d disabled in BIOS settings.
