What do you mean by "laravel-master"?

Clear out your directory, and run composer create-project laravel/laravel.

I watched the video you made but my machine runs Ubuntu 12.04 , I installed laravel and can not run it successfully. When I put

localhost/laravel

in browser address bar it shows only Laravel folder rather than its home page. I didn't run

composer create-project laravel/laravel

is it necessary to run this command while installing Laravel. I just downloaded the laravel folder and put it inside the project folder manually.
