Solution
Blade expects them all to be on individual lines. Consider using the {{ $blah ? "(complete)" || "({$missing} missing)" }} syntax if you'd like it on one line. Another alternative is placing this into a presenter object.

{{ ($bla) ? '(complete)' : "($missing missing)" }}
