If they use MAMP, and MAMP doesn't include them by default, then probably.

I would recommend swapping it for Homebrew. You could just do something like:

brew install php55-pcntl php55-readline

Of course, the issue becomes you would have to be comfortable editing configuration files (for nginx/apache/php).
