If you keep your files in app folder on any update they will be safe.

Thanks purplethebear, but how do I know when there are updates and what were the fix/changes? In Laravel site you don't see minor updates... for example now keeps showing 5.0 but we are at 5.0.5.

I'm interested in knowing this as well.. Earlier we had an "artisan changes" command.. that has now been removed.

It's not safe to always get the latest update because it's not tested. And there is no documentation for that.

Better stay with the stable version like version 5.0 or 4.2 etc... Beside if you use the stable version (tested version) you also have the documentation.

Just my opinion.

When you create a new larval installation Composer download the latest stable version I suppose from https://packagist.org/packages/laravel/framework, so you wonder what's new or fixed in the latest version.
