Hi, It is still very much an integral part of the framework. It is now called "Service Container" http://laravel.com/docs/5.0/container

Not sure why, but I'm guessing the aim is to align the nomenclature with that used by Symfony (http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/service_container.html)
